Speaking at the Fadjr Film Festival in the southern province of Buchehr, Seyyed Abbas Salehi said on Friday that nearly 100 films have been made in Iran since the beginning of the Iranian civil year (from 21 March 2017).

He pointed out that Iranian cinema "has a message to convey" in his long, documentary shorts, adding that Iranian films are popular in the world and could be considered as competitors for other countries.

During the ceremony, several local actors and producers were rewarded.
